The core mandate of APHOK is to promote the advancement and the diffusion of knowledge regarding hygiene, sanitary science, preventive medicine, health education and all matters pertaining to environmental health, secondly is to represent its members in welfare matters and ensure that there is a good work place environment for its members while Collaborating with institutions of higher learning in developing programmes that are relevant to the advancement of the profession and updating the same depending on the advancement of national needs and finally Collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in maintaining professional standards by organizing and monitoring.
